Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of synthetic chemicals widely used in textiles for their water, oil, and stain resistance. They are also called "forever chemicals" because of their persistence in the environment and human bodies, and have been linked to environmental contamination and human health problems, including cancer and reproductive issues.

Pesticides are substances used to destroy or repel pests, such as insects, weeds, or rodents, often applied to agricultural fields.

Phthalates are a group of synthetic chemicals used as plasticizers to make plastics more flexible. They are known to interfere with hormones and have raised health concerns, commonly found in clothing, upholstery, and other fabric products.
